Sky-People Sketches!

I've discovered it's fun to draw people with wings. When I have time and have improved my art skills I hope to have a full-scale story about these sky-people (and a few others) but until then these will have to do.
Also I'm terribly sorry that I've become derailed from actual comics with all these sketches! I promise some fresh comics up next week or... ah... when I've stopped procrastinating...

  1. Hahaha ist the first one me? No, you said she had small wings, so it can't be me :) And hopefully I'm also not the second one, because ... he's got too little hair on his head to be me ;)

  2. Hey Máiréad - do you draw your sketches with pencil? Because the streaks seem so dark, almost black! :)

Today I stayed at home, didn't feel well, but now it's so hot it didn't really make me feel better ... buut at least I got to draw a character of my coming-up book, which looked quite nicely :)

    lots of love,

  3. I sketch in pencil and then go over in a thin black "staedler" brand pen. Sometimes I do forget though and shade parts that seem too dark and extreme with pen. I think I am getting better though. I'm trying to sketch in pen so I can practice to make mistakes less and be more decisive with my drawing. Soon I must upload a picture I did with Storm from X-men! :)

I'm so sorry you were sick today. I hope you are better by the time you read this! I'm glad you got good work done though. I look forward to hearing how your new story is progressing. I know you probably do not want to be distracted from it but here http://machineofdeath.net/mod2 is a link to an anthology of short stories based on the single premise of a machine that tells people how they are to die and they are looking for submissions of art and stories if you would like to submit any. I keep meaning to link it to everyone I know that is creative :)

Are you finished college yet? Also how was Paris? The postcard you sent me was super elegant.

    Lots of love from Ireland!

  4. P.S. Have you ever read Empowered by Adam Warren? It's a really funny comic book series about a female superhero whose suit always falls apart and it's drawn completely in pencil and charcoal and in a mix of manga and western style comic art.
